I applaud the DIY aspect but you can buy one for $3 that is smaller and looks better.

I can appreciate the ingenuity but it looks like a lousy method of making a connection for marine applications.
Hmmmmmm ... exposed wires, non-tinned wiring, no heat shrink & carbon steel screws ... what could go wrong?

Remember, the guy is using them for model railroads, not boats.
I remember when I was a kid and made a RR layout. No money. Little current. Low voltages. This idea would have worked great for that application.

Naw, its adequate for that use. Just on the link it connected me to, I saw the t-block with a 4-plug boat trailer connector plugged into it.richg99 said:

Ha, I've used those connectors for all sorts of things over the years. No sense in re-inventing the wheel when you are doing casual wiring. I always seem to have a couple of them around anyhow.
