I fish from a 10 foot Starcraft semi v and as you can imagine, space is precious. I have a 6.5hp outboard on it and was wondering if anybody here has a bow mounted fuel tank? I thought that would be good for weight distribution and also I could possibly put a small deck from the front seat to the bow to hide the tank. What do you guys think?

Trim is also CRUCIAL to a small skiff!

On my 12' tin Starcraft, we placed the 6-gallon tank right behind the front seat, as forward of the front seat it is shaped like a 'V', so that's where we have the square bucket that holds the anchor & rode and then life preservers to the sides of the bucket.

This is what I use. Fits perfectly forward of my front seat. https://www.amazon.com/Moeller-620040LP-6BOW-Portable-Fuel/dp/B004APE46C

I was looking at that one. I see you have a 14 ft boat. Does the tank sit level or sloped in the front of yours?

I like how you have the tank and anchor up in the front. Mine is a bit off balanced.

I never even knew there was such a tank.. I might have to incorporate that into my next build.

There are some ribs running from under the front bench to the point of the bow in my hull and the tank fits snugly between them. You could build a small low platform from the material of your choice to make the tank fit. BTW, I have no fuel delivery problems with that long of a fuel line run. I ran the line thru some 3/4" grey pvc and attached it under the benches. So once the fuel line leaves the tank it doesn't drop down and stays level with the top of the tank until it reaches the motor. The primer bulb is in the stern area.
