The title should say.... 3/8 iron pipe on one end and 1/4 hose barb on the other.

I tried a local hardware store (Ha Ha Ha ) and an auto parts store ( Ha Ha again).

I've searched the internet and have come close, but no cigar yet.

Since this is a pretty normal fitting for a removable 6-gallon gasoline tank, I'm hoping someone here and can point me in the right direction. My mechanic, who might have it or could order it, is an hour and a half drive away, so I'd rather just order it online.

thanks

What are you trying to connect?

My fuel line.

I have to pull my 6-gallon gas tank out often because two of my regular batteries are hidden behind the tank. To service them by adding water, the tank has to come out all of the way.

The gas line did have a fitting similar to what has been recommended, but it no longer holds an air-tight connection. I have temporarily substituted a fixed brass fitting, but it doesn't allow easy disconnection.

If it's a portable tank it will be 1/4npt and the fuel line will be most likely 3/8

If you have to service your batteries more often than you fill with gas, you have charging system issues.

Whatever "normal" is, this boat has 3/8 i.p and 1/4 fuel line.

The prior owner did a number of unusual things with the boat.

Everything runs fine with my brass barbed substitute. I'm justs looking for a disconnect that will allow me to pull the tank easily.

Rich, I googled the fitting # shown on the label you posted (757001-0604) and got several returns. But, they are 1/4 pipe thread & 3/8 hose barb. So, not sure what is going on.

It has been suggested, on another site, that the label might have been flipped by Ace Hardware. Wouldn't surprise me. Tomorrow, I will measure the fitting and we can figure out what went wrong.

The funny thing was when I went to Ace, the manager measured the pipe size and selected the fitting from their inventory. I wonder, now, if the box he took the fitting out of had the RIGHT size on the outside, but the individual fitting was mislabeled.

I had hoped that, by having the label, that I could order a disconnect fitting from it. It now appears that the label was probably screwed up by Ace. Sheeesh.

Best laid plans of mice and men!

Gypsy; Dubs; et al.... you guys are right.

I took the broken plastic part up to Lowes and re-measured it. The threaded end is 1/4 and the barbed hose end was 3/8ths. I am ordering the Attwood part from Amazon today.

I have no idea why the Ace Hardware label implied the opposite, or maybe I just read it wrong. thanks for all of the help.

Glad it worked out.
That Attwood part can be found at any marine store.. I have one and it works well

No marine stores nearby, ....and my experience with local shopping is that I go to two or three potential sellers, and then I order what I need from Amazon while still in the aisle of the last store that "no longer carries" whatever it is that I need.

I can see why on-line shopping is winning. Stores no longer have half of what they used to carry and no one knows anything about what they carry anyhow.
