Happy to say I recently picked up my "dream" boat after a lot of research and a long long wait for it to be ordered and delivered. I call it my "dream" boat because this is the boat I imagined myself owning if and when I retired, but the Lord has blessed the last few years and I was able to afford it while I'm still "young" enough to really enjoy it :)

It's a 1648 Alweld Marsh and I must say I am absolutely thrilled with this boat. It drives like a dream, cruises along great with the 25hp yammy on the back (plenty of power).

The best part is the Minn Kota Terrova. Let me say that owning a GPS trolling motor is a huge game changer. I am no longer chained to the trolling motor. I can walk around the boat and fish from front or back, I can change lures without being blown out of position. It is worth every penny!

In this post I debated buying the flat bottom vs the mod-v bottom. I am very pleased with the flat bottom, so much room up front! Having a flat bottom is absolutely no issue where and how I fish.

I have more work to do to get it rigged up how I like it but the majority of the rigging is complete!

NICE! I really like the open floor, of course that will get a lot smaller after you get all your "necessities" on board!

I agree. It looks like a dance floor. Nice looking rig and what you say about the trolling motor GPS features is a pretty big deal. Anyway, congratulations. Now you need get some fish slime on it.

I like it too and removed my center bench seat so that my boat is just like that, sort of. Much easier to move around. I also have a seat that I can put in that I use instead of the pedestal. It works great and I can put it where I want. I would post a picture but I believe this sight requires a host web based host and now photobucket wants me to pay so that ain't happening.

But is is a freestanding seat and it is very stable.

That is a great feeling to have the boat of your dreams.
I have had a Jetcraft 19 for about 11 years which is great boat. There are times as I approach 70, that it seems a little big to handle solo. I can see maybe getting a smaller boat some time. I used to have a drift boat that I used on lakes with an old black and silver Mercury. It could be launched from the beach easily. It was very stable and had plenty of room.

The secret to a happy life is not getting what you want, it is wanting what you have.
