Luckily I did not have a problem with the positioning of my transducer nor do I need portability of my rig but this is a handy gadget for those that need either or both purposes.

I use a scrap piece of 1x2 and a C clamp. Total cost, if you don’t have a C clamp laying around, about $2

Just take a spade bit and bore a 1/4" recess for the c-clamp foot to nest into the wood a bit - makes it so the wood can't accidentally slip down off the back of the transom. Learned that one the hard way on an old boat of mine...

i have one that's held on by a magnet.it's incredibly strong.still don't know why i bought it.i don't need it but it was too good to pass up.i guess if i ever need to mount a fishfinder in the bow i'll be good.

I used these guys. I now have a portable fish finder, including mount. It allows you to use whichever fish finder you wish, so you're not limited to the "smaller" ones. I run a DragonFly 5 for about 2-3 days on one charge. Give 'em a look.
