Hi Tinboat team!

I’m back with another build, with this craft being named Tina Tinner. This go around, I am considering options for decking materials for the floor and front casting deck of my 16’ Deep V. I’m having my fabricator weld in the sub floor, and I will finish the deck install by dropping the floor onto the sub.

What I am considering is:

Marine vinyl wrapped plywood - done it before, it was alright. Not overly durable.

Checker plate aluminum - loud, hot and expensive.

1” thick composite decking - haven’t heard much. Pros/cons?

What say you?

1" thick composite decking will be heavy. Not necessarily a bad thing, though. The problem would be the radiused edges and the seams you would end up with. Maybe take the time to table saw the radius off and then ship-lap them to create a more seamless job.
