Decided to go with marine vinyl on the floor and carpet everything else.
Marine vinyl is already purchased and picking up carpet tomorrow.
Now my question is can I use the carpet glue on the marine vinyl or should I purchase some contact cement as well.
Would the carpet glue be durable enough for the vinyl?

I would bet that the carpet glue will leave lumps that you see thru the vinyl.

Check with the source you bought the vinyl from for the proper glue. Make sure the surface is clean.

When I did my vinyl, i started with buying 1 quart on Nautolex #88 adhesive per the manufacturers recommendation. The adhesive was expensive and 1 quart didn't cover much so I ended up using contact cement from Menards. I did wrap my vinyl around the edges of the plywood and staple it on the underside. You can check my build in my signature. I have experienced no issues with the vinyl after 4 years

I agree that carpet glue might show lumps under the vinyl.

Carpet glue isn't recommended for vinyl. I have a buddy that had good luck using 3M spray adhesive for doing his vinyl floor. Came out great and looks good years later, and he fishes the salt.
