Pretty much as the title states. Is doing steel flex on the outside and using gluv it on the inside overkill?

I think so ... just one man’s opinion. Plus Gluvit or any epoxy product must be over-coated (painted) to protect it against UV exposure, so you’ll save yourself time, labor and $$.
