Cutting out Gas Tank Safely

Looking to cut out my gas tank of my Tracker 190 but would like to do it safely - looking for all tips and tricks. It had gas in it and I've siphoned out as much as I could. Wondering what I can do now to remove all remnants of gas before I sawzall the tank out.

Fill it with soapy water & siphon out a few times. Leave it full of water when cutting around it.

I tend to agree with cedar, aside from gas itself the highly flammable fumes in an empty tank will get you.

There is another way. I've heard of guys welding on gas tanks by running car exhaust into the fill port. That fills the tank with gasses that won't support combustion. That would take care of the added weight of water fill, but has it's own hazards as well.

Sorry for being unclear, you would drain the water out after cutting, but before lifting the tank out.

All great suggestions - I think I'll fill with water and dish soap and siphon out a few times. I think that is the easiest way.
