I understand that 5200 is no UV safe so I guess I should paint over it as it will be exposed to constant light. Any recommendations on how to go about and what type of paint is best? Thanks, Joe.

I don't see it as an issue, as any 5200 or any other 'goop' should be between the tin and the bedded item, thus not directly exposed to UV. What are you bedding or sealing? I also bed it, tighten it snug but NOT tight & let it sit a few days, then tighten the bolts/fasteners, so the 'cured' 5200 acts like a gasket.

I`ve used it for 30-years and have never intentionally painted it ...
