Seat base?

Looking for a aluminum seat base like this one that is not diamond plate. Any ideas?

Found one, but only 4" height .... but maybe a local tin shop could fab one for you.

$159 for a bent piece of metal ?? They're sure proud of that thing, aren't they ?? I'd go to the local metal recycle yard and find a piece to bend up myself. Local yard charges $1/lb for steel and $3/lb for aluminum.

I remember seeing aluminum pedestals like this one displayed by a dealer in the midwest on his website. Just right for a johnboat (can stick a battery or tackle boxes underneath). You could get them mail order. I vaguely remember they were for a name brand like allweld. Apologies but I cant be any more specific than that. They also sold rod rod boxes for tinny's IIRC.
