i've not gone through the entire "materials" thread - yet!

Q: anyone use 3M VHB tape?

i've used it extensively on vehicle work (van & cap conversions) but wondered how salt water might affect it's durability.

I have not. I looked up this 3M tape and it sounds pretty versatile. Glad you mentioned it.

Way back when I had the lathe, I kept some "wood turner's" double sided tape. Don't know the brand. I used it once for to temporarily hold some drawer fronts. Turned out to be permanent. Haha
