I have the opportunity to pickup a 1953 16' starcraft. I'm not 100% convinced its that old? Does this look like a 1953 boat/ hull?

Is this a good candidate for a rebuild?

My favorite type of boat. Wide open floor plan tiller steer. That Evinrude 15 is one of the best 2 strokes ever made. I would update the seats, go through the engine, maybe add some electronics and head to the river.

As for how old it is, I'm sure there's a web site that can tell you how old it is from the vin number. Nice boat good luck.

That motor is a '77
The last 2 digits of the HIN in the right rear corner is the year of manufacturer.

We fish from a 1954 feathercraft.

I love that starcraft. I would own it in a heart beat.
