depends on what kind of water you are in... I've got a 1236 and if the water is real choppy, it's hard for me to keep balanced and I've got mine weighted down pretty well.
If both of you want to stand, I would suggest atleast something with a 42" floor... but you may be ok, just a little too cramped for my liking
