Ok guys, been lurking here a long time and I think this is my very first post. First just a bit of my history. After having a really old leaky 10' jon for years I finally broke down and bought a new Lowe 1232. I wanted something that I could load onto my popup camper and into my pickup by myself......or I would have went bigger. I want to mount some new seats but would like to stay away from clamp ons. Is there some way to attach a post mounted seat to my bench seat and still be able to remove it when I need to flip it over and put it on my popup camper for hauling? I have been shopping mounts but nobody really shows pictures of them ON THE BOAT! A pic of the mount by itself just does not explain it to me. Any help would really be appreciated. Pics would be even better!

PS - Love this site! Where can i get a tinboats.net sticker for my boat?

Thought I would post that I am looking at these seats:

And I was think about some kind of post mount that would enable me to raise the seats a little off the existing bench seats. This is the post mount I was thinking of:

How can I attach that seat mount to my bench seat?

oowe those are nice, mind picking me up a few on a goodole' IOU

your 2/3rds of the way there. you need to find the base for that seat mount wich you can bolt rite to your bench

I think you are looking for something like this. it will fit the mount you are looking at for the seats.
I would mount that to the seat using bolts and washers and nuts under the seat removing the foam for access you can also get risers of different lengths to raise your seat

I appreciate the opinion on the seats ben. I have been debating about the type of seats I wanted and those were not first on my list. What is your opinion of this style seat?

Also I am curious as to how you guys would suggest I attach this mount plate to my bench?

Would rivets be ok???

I searched harbor freight and can't seem to find that rivet gun so if you can post the link I would really appreciate it. Thanks for the opinion on the seats. I don't want to buy some and then wish I had got the better seats later.

Also, I searched around here and can't seem to find where i can get a tinboats.net sticker for my boat? I have been reading stuff on this site on and off for a couple of years now. Lots of great ideas here. Many I will never get to use, but I still like reading about them and see all of your pics!

Ouch! 38 bucks to set a dozen rivets! Do you think I could get by with 3/16" rivets in stainless steel (instead of aluminum)? Maybe drill some extra holes for more holding power? These seats are getting really expensive!

I found a gun similar to the big daddy (with the long handles) at northerntool.com that will do 3/16" rivets for 20 bucks. That is why I asked. If anyone else knows where I can get the same one they had at harborfreight please let me know.

That's the seat and bases that I like the best.If you have a boating store nearby, see if they have a seat display and try a few out.

Maybe you can rent one for a few dollars at a local tool rental place?

I was thinking about the post and base setup for my seats also but not sure. I'd really like to be able to adjust the seat side-to-side as needed for balance. I am looking at these mounts be would have to see one first https://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_948_225008005_225000000_225008000_225-8-5
Has anyone seen or used one of these mounts?

So I finally purchased my seats and this is what I got:

https://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21276-cat21334&id=0030640017339a&navCount=9&podId=0030640&parentId=cat21334&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IK&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat21334&hasJS=true

The seats were 25% off and wouldn't you know it I ended up walking out with a little pink cricket .22 lr rifle for my daughter too! The wife was kinda pissed! Take off for boat seats and come back with a gun!

OK, so I have a question now that I need to mount these seats. I found someone who will let me use their rivet gun. You guys say to mount them with 1/4" rivets. Would that be in aluminum rivets? any idea about how long? Also where do you get them? I have not been able to find anything locally bigger that 3/16".
