I have a 12 foot shallow v row boat. I found a great deal on a 16 foot flatbottom. He said it is 40" wide and I'm not sure if thats bottom or top. Anyway do you feel a 16' flat bottom will be more stable then the shallow V. I'm fishing a private lake with no wake. Thanks for your help guys!

Usually flat bottom boats are more stable.40 inch floor is good.If it's 40 across the top then the floor is probably 32 inches, which makes for a tippy boat if you stand up or install pedestal seats.
