Polar Craft needs new transom

How hard would it be to build and install a new transom on a 18' Polar Craft? How much do you think this would cost? If I could buy a 18' Polar Craft with a 50 hp motor for $300 would it be worth it? The boat doesnt leak except where the transom is rotten. Thanks

It's not hard at all.

The cost is usually whatever a sheet of marine plywood and sealer is.

Does the 50hp work??
It a sweet deal anyways but with a working outboard a really sweet deal.

The outboard was running last he knew. However, it is sitting in the boat right now because of the transom.
