i'd go with the cheapest. spraypaint will last a good while but its alot thinner than regular paint. i'd just put a few extra coats on'r

Spray paint won't last long but it's safe to use.

I have used rattle cans in the past with good results. The secret is in the prep work. Sand the boat to give the paint something to grab hold of, prime any bare areas, and spray away in thin coats. It was a camo job, not sure how well it would work if you wanted to paint the whole boat one solid color though.
