I was wondering if I took out the middle seat what would I use in its place to keep the boat strong? What are the rib-like things on the bottom?

The ribs on the floor are to keep the bottoms shape and strengthen it.Most people here use structural aluminum angle 1.25x1.25x.125 inches and hold it together with all aluminum pop(cherry) rivets or stainless steel lock nuts,bolts,and washers.Don't forget to seal stainless steel hardware with 3M 5200 marine sealant.
