I p/u a grumman Rouge as a "project" boat. Since stripper her to framework, I have discovered 4 of the aluminum crossmembers are fractured in half and 1 has a hairline fracture. The crossmembers were welded once and fractured again. As a result, there are 4 fatigue cracks in the hull, the largest 6" long and 1/8" wide.
My guess is the previous owners hit a bar of some sort and from there wave pounding beat her up. the gashes are not a problem.
Has anyone ever had to replace the crossmember extrusions? Where did did you get them or how did you make them? I have some thoughts but need other input
The boat came out of florida and shows some corrosion probelems. Holes and gashes unimportant.
