If you're going to make high decks, I would just try and get the widest boat possible - might even mean going to 14' if you could. I think low floors would be better on a 12 footer.

I imagine the brands Lowe, Alumacraft, Lund, Crestliner, Starcraft are great names. Whether or not they all make something like that I don't know, but those seem to be pretty popular. There are people on here that know much more than I do, and I am sure they will chip in. Whichever you choose, good luck!!

I have a Lowe 1440 and have gotten great use out of it.
Any reason you are stuck on a 12'? I would go with a 14, lot more capicity, more room, etc..
I like my 1440 but if I could do over, I would have gotten a 1448.

I wanted a 12' due to the width... being able to slide it between my wheel-wells... must keep it 48".

I did find: Waco out of LTR, AR makes a 14' that is 46" wide / Voyager out of Lake Ozark, MO. makes a similar
size... both for around the $850 range. I do not want to deal with a trailer...

I also feel that mounting them up high will indeed cause the boat to be top heavy...
