Replacing wood bench seat

I obtained an old 70's Starcraft Jon with wooden seats last year... Think I paid too much, but was the only thing around that fit my desires at the time....
The seats on there now look like a solid piece of 5/8" wood and they are beginning to split.. It's been painted a couple different times.. Just wondering what they came with and what would be a good option to replace it with...

EDIT.. Added a picture from a fellow tinboater since I am away from home for a few days... Mine is the same style.. It's a 14' with 4 seats... Front seat was turned in to storage by previous owner...

If you can post a picture of what you have, we can give you a 100 different ways to redo it... Kinda hard to suggest something without seeing what type of bracing, etc is already in place

I agree with Russo1o on this.It's surprising how many boats look a like but a structurally different on the inside.
