I have searched and searched for a replacement "traction pad", for the lack of a better description, that is on the very front most platform on my bass tracker. I purchased this boat just about a month ago and I am slowly go through it and upgrading some of the parts. Basically there is a triangle area in the bow of the boat where the trolling motor is located that I need to replace because what is there is dry rotted. I found some Diamond matting at Cabelas that looks good - but it is prety expensive for what it is - 39.99. Has anyone ever replaced this or know where I can get replacement product?

Attached is a photo of what I am trying to replace

Thanks for reading and if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Tom

Can you get a picture of the issue?I think you maybe referring to grip tape. It's kind of like sand paper that you can walk on.Skate boards and riding mowers have it.

Mine just had a piece of rubber glued on. Instead of replacing it I covered my whole boat above the waterline with Tuff coat as I was refurbishing it anyway. You can get it from BPS and Cabelas. It's pretty much like herculiner diy bedliner(could use that too). It is a polyurethane coating that has ground up car tires in it for traction. You could just mask off the area and put some on there. Or you might try a search for americans with disabilities tape. They make all kinds of traction tape for stairs and ect that meets the AWDA standards. Most of it is pretty tough stuff. I bought some years ago to put on top of a truck bumper for traction.

I have decided to use herculiner as a replacement and I am also thinking about putting this in the stern compartment where the batteries and gas tank are located so they dont move around as much when trailering. Can someone please let me know what to use for primer for Aluminum before apply the herculiner.

Thanks

Here is the link to the instructions in pdf form so you can print them out if needed. https://www.herculiner.com/images/bedliner_install_english.pdf
