Ive been trying to come up with a way to make my drain hole better. As you can see in the pic, its literally just a hole cut in the transom. A plug does fit in there, but I think I need to come up with something a little more durable. Any suggestions? I would really like to come up with something that I can bolt in, as I have yet to find a welder around here that will touch aluminum.

You need to find a welder.Get a peice of aluminum tube that a drain plug will fit in cut about 1.5" & have welded in.
I've seen the type you bolt to a transom with a screw in plug at West Marine which I guess in a pinch will work.

Go to your autoparts store and buy a transmission drain plug kit and some JB Weld.

The drain plug kit has an outer bolt and nut that holds it in the hole. Than an inner bolt threads into the outer bolt and can be removed to drian the fluid, in your case to drain the boat. The JB Weld will bond to the aluminum and bolt and make it a water tight seal.
