New guy w/ a new boat!

Awesome site! I was searching around the web looking for some info on AL boats and came across this site. I have read every post in the boat mod and boat sections and now I'm workin my way over to the motor and elctronics. Anyways, I found a tin boat on CL and I just couldn't pass up the deal. $400 for a 1986 16x48 Traveler w/ a side console and a 1987 40hp Johnson VRO on the back. The motor doesn't run, and the hull has some leaks, but I was looking for a project boat to begin with so I got it. This weekend I plan on gutting the whole thing, and cleaning it up a bit. I'll post some pics, and you guys tell me what you think. Thanks, -Kris-

Weld it up professionally, and then Steel Flex. You won't regret it.

We think the power pack needs replacing, but we're gonna take a good look at it on Sat. to see if we can't figure it out.

That's the plan Ober. I was thinking of of red Steel Flex on bottom then whit paint up top.
