well i finally bought a digital camera, me the technophobe, the guy who did not even have internet at home until about 2 months ago. said goodbye to my old minolta 35mm and got a nice sony alpha 230 dslr. i've always loved photography but hated the expense of film and developing, those days are behind me. now i can get out and shoot as much as i want. you guys can check out my pics from the last week at this link, if you'd like.
i'm gonna have to get a wide angle lens if i'm going to show all of the monster fish i catch. :D

Congrats on the new purchase. Very Nice! Lots of great shots there! What Photo Editing Software are you using, if any?

thanks guys!
so far just the sony software that came with the camera. i shoot in RAW, and usually only tweek things a bit, like curves, white balance and exposure if needed.
i also use some Cokin square filters i had with my old camera to help with some shots.

Awesome... they look great! Gimp is a good "free" photo editing program you can get for PC or Mac if you are interested. Here's the link.

My wife and I have a Canon D30 and a 5D which we like a lot. She has had her on photography business for around 5 years now. She has several different lenses we shoot with. She enjoys photographing people and I enjoy photographing nature. We have started visiting several of the waterfalls in our area which I enjoy shooting. I really need to get a good neutral density filter to help with this. If you are looking for new lenses, you might want to check out B&H Photo... it's a great site. The link is, https://www.bhphotovideo.com/

Keep up the good work and look forward to more of your pics!

yeah i've looked at the gimp, sounds good. ND filters are next on my list, 4x and 8x for daytime waterfalls, plus the polarizer.
bh photo is a place i've been lookin at, i always check around online for the best price.
