I just picked up this 1966 evinrude sportwin, just wanted to know a little bit about the motor and what something like this is worth? the entire motor is complete and in great condition. The guy had it inside his house for almost 30 years.

***If*** she's got good and equal compression on both cylinders, you have a great motor.

My first motor was a 1966 Johnson 9.5 (identical to yours), and it was a fantastic motor. Never let me down. Ran like a champ and started within 2 pulls regardless if the temperature was 40 degrees or 95.

Take good care of that.

Do all the "usual" maintenace on that motor now:
impeller (and impeller housing gaskets)
fuel lines
fuel filter
Check lower unit gear oil for contaminants/water
check the condition of the pull-starter rope, replace if frayed at all (you will thank me...)

Also, go here for a wealth of info on that motor: https://www.leeroysramblings.com/

Good luck. You've got a nice motor.
