I asked this on another part of the forum but got no answer so I'll try here. I have a 16' Lowe with a mod. V and 25HP Mariner motor. I haven't been on the water yet but wondering if I have enough motor to plane. I have added decking so it will add about 200 lbs or so. Thanks!

Sounds like enough motor to me.
 
Plenty.
I have a 30 Mariner on a 1652 modv,planes of real quick with an 11P,little slower with a 13P.
 
I own a Lowe 162 (16 foot mod vee) and a 25hp and plains out no problem. This boat has aluminum floor, carpet, middle livewell etc.
