Finally got the Evinrude (1958 18hp Fastwin) out on the water this weeekend and she ran like a top! Plenty of power, idles beautifully and starts easy.

Got her up to a respectable 36 km/h (22.3 mph) according to the GPS on my BlackBerry.

Here are some glamour shots of the tin from this weekend.

You bet. That's Kingsford Lake in Frontenac Provincial Park. Me and the wife camped up there for the weekend. Caught a whole bunch of Bass and saw the biggest school of Crappie I have ever seen in my life! Our camp site is only accessible by water or on foot.

Looks like a real clear lake.
Great that your motor worked nice for ya,money well spent.

Yeah, really clear lake. Used fluorocarbon leaders on all my braided line and I think that made the difference.

I kept forgetting the cemera on shore so no fish pics. Mrs. BC took some fish pics on her BlackBerry. I'll try and get them from her.

Heck with the fish...........let me see a close up of the 18 !!

Yep. That sure is one purty engine. You can't beat an old twin cyl. Johnnyrude with anything.
