I have a 50/35 HP outboard jet with a control box which has stripped gears and will not push the cables when engaged. The key switch and all works fine. I have another control box which has no electrical componet (just throttle and shift controls) I would like to see if I can hook up the key switch and use the other controls to work the throttle and shifter. Just not sure if I can take the old key switch out of the old control box and use it independent of the control box it is currently in. Sorry for the confusion of this question....
