I came across this 99 Yamaha 15 hp for $600...Is this a good deal? Is this thing going to cost me a lot to maintain/service? Is it a hard motor to work on?

On this side of the border they sell for$1800. plus,,,I own a 2001 model wich would be pretty much like yours,great motor starts on 1/4 of a pull really like it. Mike
 
If compression is good, I dont see why not.... Also check the lower unit oil to make sure there is no water in it....
