Looking at a 4hp Mercury (1980's)

Hey Gang,

I may buy a 4hp 2-stroke Merc.....seller claims not sure if it runs, has not run it in a few years....$75 on craigslist....

Thoughts on a 'project' motor?
any thoughts on the 4hp Merc?

Should I run?

I have a 9.9 80's Merc tiller and it is bulletproof. It has been the most dependable outboard I have ever owned and I haven't put a dime into it and refuse to get rid of it. :wink:

If it turns over I'd buy it. You can always use it for a back up motor. I like the small outboards. there cool.
