90s jet a 90 horse before or after jet?

I am looking at buying a mid 90s Yamaha outboard that is a jet.
How can I tell if it is a higher horse motor that is badged a 90 HP because of the jet or if it is a 90HP before the jet was figured, so now its like a 65??

Scroll down a tad then the year is listed by a letter and if its a factory jet it will have a "J" in the serial #. It might be kind of confusing so I would call a dealer that deals in Yamaha's and give them the serial # and have them run it.
If I was going to plunk down the amount of cash it's going to take to buy that motor then I would in the least take it for a test run but you would probably be better off having a mechanic check it out.

The motor is actually on a boat I'm looking to buy.

I'm going to test run it, but for the money I'm going to get it for I'm pretty comfortable.
