I fired up my motor for the first time this year after sitting all winter. Its a 1978 Merc 9.8. It fired up and ran great. Now today I go out to look at my motor and there is a small puddle of what looks to be oil under the prop  Where could this possibly be coming from and what should I do to fix it? Thanks in advance guys! This site rocks =D>

If you smell it you will probably smell the oil your mixing in your gas.Its probably the oil build up from idling.
Gear oil has a sulfur like smell.

It is 2 stroke oil - change your spark plugs and check your ratio (oil / gas)

Like what was said above, it happens when you idle - you might also be leaking some gas through your carb into the motor
