1972 mercury 110 9.8 , has ran fine in the barrel . took it out on the lake and it wont start . put new plugs and still nothing . i am getting spark , and old plugs were wet so i am thinking i am getting fuel . it will only start if i hit the carb with starter fluid but will not stay running , it will start then putter out . i am stumped !! #-o . i need a manual for it but just aint got the extra $ . i am not to familiar with outboards but i am mechanicly enclined to work on it , if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it . i have replaced new tank , hose and bulb too . thanks guys

well bad news for me , i took carb off and the screen on the fuel inlet had alot of junk in it , so i figured i would rebuild the carb . i tried to take float out and when i pushed pin out the ear that hold the float broke #-o , so now i need a new carb body . everywhere i have looked online they all say OBSOLETE . if any one could help i would appreciate it . the motor is a 1973 Mercury 110 9.8 horse serial # 3614362. thanks

Try here https://www.vintageoutboard.com/ and https://www.crowleymarine.com/parts.cfm there are other places just google old / Vintage Mercury parts

Starting fluid is the worst thing for a 2 stroke motor. If your going to squirt someting squirt mixed gas.

There's no outboard shops in your area that has old parts?

well here is a update .... found a carb on ebay , should be here in a few days . I am not going to touch this one i am putting it in the shop and let them tune it.
