Just bought a 14 ft alumacraft with a 5 hp briggs and stratton and was wondering how i can give this engine a tune up.... I'm new to boating but it seems as though it could use a little tlc. any advise would really be appreciated. Thanks

take it to any small engine repair shop. Its the same type of enigine that is on a lawn mower. (loud...)

I agree, small engine repair shop. Tho, It is just a lawnmower engine, dunno exactly what you expect, just don't expect a whole lot.

9.9 or a 15. The briggs does the job no doubt, just noisy as heck, and not lots of power.

Stick with Johnson/ Evinrude, Mercury, or Yamaha
DONT buy a Force, Chryster, or Sears. off brand junk [-X [-X
Id look for a 15 hp for your boat, maybe a 20?
