I have my grandfather's old motor and it fires right up. However, it is spitting water out of the exhaust and up into the cowling. I am pretty sure that it is the gasket. I am just not sure how to het to it. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

If your talking about the exh cover thats leaking your going to have to split the clam shell on that motor to access the bolts = a lot of work.

I thought it was the exhaust cover and I have the motor completely dismantled. I took the covers off and ordered new gaskets. They are a little too tricky to try and make. I am a little concerned that this is not the problem. Is there a way for water to come up the drive shaft and up under the flywheel?
Thanks for the replies.
