Hey Everyone, Im a long time lurker here but first time poster :LOL2:

I have a question about setting up a motor I have with controls. Its a 10hp Evinrude (Around 1989ish) and its currently just tiller. I would like to get a 12 or 14ft aluminum and build a little center console for it like in this build: https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=19074

I have literally NO idea what i need to convert a tiller style motor for use with a console. If someone could let me know what I need and where i can buy it, how much it costs????

Thank you!!!! 8)

Welcome to TinBoats FF.

I don't know what's involved, but I just googled "converting tiller to steering" and got alot of info.

I suspect some of our members will have some insight as well.

Thanks for joining.

A control box, two control cables, and attachment hardware are all that is needed for the throttle/shift. For steering you need the helm, steering wheel, cable, and attachment peices for your engine. Always have your model number handy when you order from a dealer. What you want to do will not be cheap!

Sigh....

Well sounds like i'll stick with the tiller :LOL2:

I really was looking to spend under 200 bucks..

Thanks for the help!!!!
