I purchased a 14 ft alumacraft b-bottom and I have a 9.8 HP Nissan long shaft that I bought last summer it seems to move it pretty well, but I was good you can rejet it and get the HP up to14. Does anyone know if that's true.

Rejetting is usually only needed if you are changing altitude by about 3000 feet, if you mess with it too much you will rob power by throwing off the Stoichiometric ratio (the optimum theoretical mix of fuel and air to achieve complete combustion of that fuel).

Anyway, I just sold a Nissian 9.8, it was a great motor and ran hard but yeah on a 14' boat that is going to be a little small. My recommendation is look for a larger motor. You can play with the jets but I don't think you will be happy with the the outcome for the price.
