A 14' boat with a 25hp rating on the transom, will it be ok to put a 35hp vintage motor on it?

I'm running a 25hp motor on a boat that is probably rated for 15. I did replace the transom and added a 1x6 oak board to it.

I would do that in a hearbeat, but that's just me. You may find it a little much but ya' never know until you slide it on there, right? Have never been checked nor do I know anyone who has been and I have been in and around the boating industry my whole life.

If you keep it off Coast Guard patrolled waters you should be fine. However it will void any insurance you do have.
