I have a G3 1544 with a Mariner 25 hp that pulls fairly hard to starboard. I figured I'd try adjusting the trim tab, but it is broke off. I haven't had this boat very long, but I am assuming it has been this way since I got it. I have NO idea how it would have gotten broken off but no damage to the prop or anything else.
Regardless, are these easily replaced? Also, does that part serve any other purpose other than help minimize torque?
Thanks in advance.

if you are refering to fins, they are easy to replace. you can also use your motor without one, it's much safer than running it with a broken fin.
the fin's purpose is not to minimize torque, it's for keeping efficient trim, and also to prevent the prop from sucking air on bigger motors.

It's not the fins....although I do have them. It's the small "rudder" looking contraption that sits directly above the prop.
