Does any one know if we can get by with out the prime start in the summer time if the outboard will crank and warm up on its on. My 03 Yama 25hp 4 stroke has broke the bottom plastic cup on the prime start solenoid and I bent the spring pulling it out. My plan is to grind it off flat with a dremel tool and cut the shank off a plastic ink pen and super glue it on the bottom of the prime start for a cup to hold the spring and push it down. I think I can bend the spring back like it was.
