Not very much - even a slight ding can make the prop wobble a bit which can then cause your lower unit seal to wear and leak.

A small nick on an aluminum prop is not big deal, but any sort of bend is bad

With that being said there are lots of guys who run some pretty banged up props without much issue

I've had to take a file to mine a few times. Now I have a Macs River Runner prop protector.
Do you have any pictures?
