Last year my late 80's 35hp Mercury lost a cylinder. The piston will move slightly when pushed on the top. We figured its a rod bearing since the other piston is still solid. Is this something easily done at home?

The more I am reading the more it seems like I might be in for more than I thought. More than likely the journal on the crank will be tore up from the bearing failing. If that's the case it won't be worth fixing cost wise.

Sound about right?
