I recently purchased a 12ft aluminum Lowe boat and I am looking to buy a motor. The transom measures 16 1/2 inches. I was wondering if putting a long shaft 9.9 (MAX 10hp) as opposed to a short shaft would make much of a difference in the boats handling? Any thoughts?
