Anyone know of a "conversion kit" that I can use to convert my 1988 40hp mariner to an electric start rather than pull start? Anyone have good luck with this?

I'm not familiar with your motor, but
my guess any sort of "new" electric start kit would be very expensive, if available.
Probably ebay or an outboard salvage yard would probably be your
best option. Good luck.

I converted my 1989 from pull start to electric start. I also added power trim and tilt to it. I purchased a motor that had a blown power head that way I had all the parts to do the conversion. I love it because it gave me both electric start and pull start as well. The actual conversion was really simple. I would be happy to send you pics of it if you want me to. Just let me know.
