What model Mercury is this?

Hi everyone,

I bought a used, 1988 (i think) Mercury 2-stroke 9.9 hp motor.

I need to find out some details (model, lower-unit type, etc.) on it.

The serial number is: 0B336711

Can someone tell me if there's a way to decode that into useful info?

No, which is weird. (At least I can't find one)

I think Mercury just uses the hp of the motor along with the serial number.

Actually, it is on the list if you remove the leading "0" and look for "B336711".

The starting serial number for a 1988 9.9hp is B233300 and for 1989 it's B385500, so mine is 1988 as I thought.

What model Mercury is this?
