I have been looking for a bigger motor for my boat for when duck season rolls around...the 9.9 just doesn't get the job done when loaded down with people and gear.

I found a 35hp evinrude on craigslist. It's listed as non-running. I emailed the guy and he said he has never had it running and never tried to start it. It's electric start and looks to be all there.

Between me and my dad we can work on the motor so the expenses will just be the parts.

After talking with the guy a bit, he said he would take $250 because he wants it gone.

Should I entertain this and go take a look at it? Or should I run for the hills. It would be about a 45min drive one way to take a look at it.

I'd go look at it. Take a fresh battery, fresh fuel in a spray bottle, compression tester and spark tester.
