i know i will get scolded since ive seen it on here before, i have an 80 johnson 25hp(j25rcsa) and want to know whats different on my carb as apposed to the 35hp carb for this year and make?
thanks....

Go through each motors diagram/parts step by step and compare part numbers.

your motor (j25rcsa):

35 hp johnson, same year:

Id bet alot of it is the same but there are exhaust tuners and different timing involved alot of the time.

i was hoping someone would save me the time, ive compared some of them and they are the same( parts on carb) im thinking your right with it being exaust and what not. thanks man....

Johny25 did a very nice article awhile back that was tailored to the general boater to understand

Today, I received the carb, reeds and manifold I bought on E-Bay for $75.00 delivered.

I am boosting my 1979 Johnson 25hp to a 35. The 35hp hardware came off a 1978 Johnson
so everything will be compatible.
After a good cleaning and new overhaul kit, all should be good to go for about $100 total for the upgrade.

do your homework - check all compatibility of parts prior to buying anything.

everything you need is on e-bay

There is nothing more grand than
to be just simply messing around
in an old boat . . . . POGO, 1960
