hey everyone. im looking for any tips or suggestions for painting my 76 evinrude. everything is in great condition, just very badly faded so i want to restore the paint to its original colors. i was thinking about sandblasting the motor and then using zinc chromate primer. then a few coats of omc paint for the 76 evinrude scheme, then a few clear coats.ive never done any of this before, so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. the cowl cover is in good condition, do i need to use a primer for that too? i found a few places online for new vinyl decals. ebay has a nice set with good reviews. the only part i need is the rubber seal on the cover. and evinrude does not make that part anymore for that model. any ideas on where i can get it?
thanks in advance!!!!!!!!

I'm going to list 6 links that pertain to repainting an outboard. The guy who put them up is a member of the AOMCI(Antique Outboard Motor Club Inc). He put a good bit of work into the tutorial as to help others on the forum wanting to have a good idea how to go about it. So, I hope it helps you out!!
